In the Andean imaginary, the sacred does not descend from the sky. It emerges from the landscape itself—from mountains, rivers, deserts, and the invisible forces that connect them.
While developing GUARDIANA, we found ourselves returning to the feminine figures that appear throughout ancestral cosmologies. Women as guardians of memory, as protectors of knowledge, as creators and sustainers of life. Their power is rarely expressed through dominance, but through presence. Through care. Through intuition. Through an enduring strength that often goes unseen.
Across many ancient cultures of Peru, the feminine carried a spiritual resonance that connected the human realm with the divine. These were not passive figures waiting to be rescued, but active forces within their communities—guides, healers, mothers, leaders, and keepers of tradition. Their gestures became rituals. Their daily acts became forms of devotion.
The collection was photographed in November 2025 within the Church of San Xavier de Nasca, an 18th-century Jesuit temple located only a few kilometers from the Nazca Pampa and the ceremonial center of Cahuachi. Today, the church stands abandoned. Time has left its mark on its walls, its ceilings, and its foundations. Yet despite its fragility, it remains a place of extraordinary presence.
We were drawn to the tension that exists within this space. Between permanence and decay. Between silence and memory. Between what remains visible and what has been lost.
Within these walls, GUARDIANA began to take on a deeper meaning.
The women represented in this collection are not objects of worship. They are presences of quiet authority. They observe. They protect. They decide. They bless. Rooted in the earth yet connected to something beyond it, they embody a strength that is both gentle and unwavering.
GUARDIANA is a reflection on those women—past and present—whose presence shapes the world around them. Women who carry light into spaces marked by time. Women who preserve stories, nurture communities, and move through life with grace, resilience, and purpose.
This collection is dedicated to them.
